The Fodlha is a tribute to her connection to the Fae with its bell-shaped mid-length sleeve and is knit in our signature honeycomb stitch. We love emulating the natural beauty that lies in our land, and how the bee community work together is representative of our Farm to Yarn network, where everyone is valued, from the sheep to the farmers, to the makers, to the conscious consumers.

The Fodhla (Fo-la)

Fodlha was intimately connected with the Fairy realms of Ireland. When she took to her hill to stop the invaders, she called on “a swift Fairy host” along with a crow who represented the infamous Morrigan, to harass and delay the army.

This style is a tribute to her connection to the Fae with its bell-shaped mid-length sleeve and is knit in our signature honeycomb stitch. We love emulating the natural beauty that lies in our land, and how the bee community work together is representative of our Farm to Yarn network, where everyone is valued, from the sheep to the farmers, to the makers, to the conscious consumers.

This knit has a generous neckline which is very elegant against the honeycomb pattern and has open sides which can fall and flow or be tucked in as you like it.

Our signature Ériu yarn is made of 100% Irish wool from our own farm and our Farm to Yarn Network. It is a blend of soft and lustrous lambswool Romney and Blue-Face Leicester. The nature of this blend creates a beautiful drape and lustre, making it super soft and elegantly flowy and flattering.

Handmade by our knitters, Anne and Ann, who take exceptional care with each garment passing through their own hands. Their wealth of experience designing with luxury yarns means they know exactly how to create and knit beautiful patterns that serve the uniqueness that is our Ériu blend.

The natural antibacterial properties of pure wool mean your Ériu knitwear will require less frequent washing. Regular airing will restore freshness, and isolated stains can be spot cleaned with water and mild or organic soap, dabbing with a lint-free cloth.

Hand wash in cold or lukewarm water using a mild eco, wool-friendly detergent. Squeeze and move suds through the material without wringing or stretching the blanket. Rinse thoroughly in clean water.

Carefully remove from the water and press gently in between hands to squeeze out water. Do not wring the blanket! Finally, roll in a towel to remove further liquid.

Line dry for best results.

Do not tumble dry!
